This charming four-bedroom property in Alderney has been a beloved family destination for my client for many years. As it transitions to a full-time residence, it calls for a thoughtful overhaul to enhance its everyday functionality and enjoyment.
The existing south and west facades currently present small windows that fail to capture the breathtaking coastal views that surround the property. In the new design, we plan to introduce larger windows and sliding glass doors that will not only frame the picturesque scenery but also allow natural light to flood the interior. Imagine waking up and lying in bed while watching boats sail by—this design aims to make that a reality. While the previous conservatory provided some natural daylight, it was ultimately impractical, being uncomfortably cold in winter and uncomfortably warm in summer, typical of older conservatories. To address this, the new design features solid walls and a well-insulated, energy-efficient structure that ensures outstanding thermal performance. Large glazed openings and strategically placed roof lights will facilitate the flow of natural light deep into the living spaces, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere throughout the day. In a significant transformation, the entire existing rear facade and roof are set to be demolished. This change will allow for a deeper footprint, effectively opening up the interior and establishing a spacious environment ideal for both living and entertaining.

Every aspect of this home has been deliberately designed, from the clean architectural lines to the generously sized internal areas, all curated to enhance daily living.
